Effective Date: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the individual owner operating PromptPlate, (“PromptPlate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the PromptPlate website, application, subscription, AI recipe generator, image-based ingredient-recognition features, cookbook, grocery list, and related services (collectively, the “Service”)[cite: 2].
This policy applies to information processed through the Service. It does not govern the independent practices of third parties, including Stripe, whose services are governed by their own privacy policies[cite: 2].
When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password or other authentication credential. You may also provide account preferences or settings[cite: 2].
We collect information you choose to submit, upload, generate, or save through the Service, including ingredient lists, recipe prompts, dietary or taste preferences, generated recipes, cookbook entries, notes, and grocery-list items[cite: 2].
If you use AI vision features, we process the photos you upload, such as images of your refrigerator, pantry, food, packaging, or ingredients, together with information derived from those photos. Photos may incidentally contain personal information. Avoid uploading images that show people, mail, prescription labels, financial records, addresses, government identifiers, or other sensitive or unnecessary information[cite: 2].
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect payment-card details, billing information, transaction information, fraud-prevention data, and other information needed to process and manage your subscription. PromptPlate does not intentionally receive or store your complete payment-card number or card security code. We may receive limited transaction information from Stripe, such as your Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, plan, payment status, billing dates, amount paid, refunds, and the last four digits or brand of a payment method[cite: 2].
If you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address, message, support request, and any attachments[cite: 2].
When you use the Service, our hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to operate and protect the Service, such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, access times, requested pages or features, error records, and security or diagnostic logs. We may also use essential cookies or similar technologies for login sessions, preferences, security, and subscription functionality[cite: 2].
We use information to:
We do not use your username, email address, password, private cookbook, grocery list, prompts, or uploaded photos for third-party advertising. We do not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising[cite: 2].
To generate recipes or analyze images, PromptPlate may transmit the content you submit, including prompts, ingredient information, and photos, to one or more third-party AI or image-processing providers. Those providers process the information on our behalf or as otherwise described in their terms and privacy documentation[cite: 2].
Do not submit information that is unnecessary for recipe generation. In particular, do not intentionally submit Social Security numbers, government identifiers, financial-account information, health records, private communications, or images of people. AI systems may produce inaccurate results, and you should independently verify all output[cite: 2].
We may disclose information in the following circumstances[cite: 2]:
Service providers are permitted to process information only for the services they provide to us, subject to their agreements and applicable law. Some providers may also process limited information for their own security, fraud-prevention, legal, or compliance purposes as described in their policies[cite: 2].
Stripe independently processes information related to checkout, billing, subscription management, fraud prevention, and payments. Stripe’s processing is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy and related notices. You should review those materials before subscribing[cite: 2].
Stripe Privacy Policy: https://stripe.com/privacy[cite: 2]
We retain account information for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to process closure, resolve disputes, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. We retain saved recipes, cookbook entries, grocery-list items, prompts, and uploaded images for as long as needed to provide the feature, until you delete them where deletion controls are available, or until your account is deleted, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements[cite: 2].
Transaction and subscription records may be retained for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and legal purposes. Stripe retains information according to its own policies. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you[cite: 2].
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong, unique password and protecting your login credentials[cite: 2].
If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact [email protected] promptly[cite: 2].
Depending on the Service’s available controls, you may update account information, delete individual saved items, cancel your subscription, or request account deletion. You may contact [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account[cite: 2].
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights, which can include rights to confirm processing, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to appeal a denied request. PromptPlate does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising as those terms are commonly defined in state consumer-privacy laws[cite: 2].
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, such as when information must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, recordkeeping, or to protect another person’s rights. You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits and required verification is provided[cite: 2].
To submit a privacy request or appeal, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Request.”[cite: 2]
PromptPlate may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for account login, authentication, security, preferences, fraud prevention, and subscription functionality. If we later add nonessential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide any consent or opt-out mechanism required by law[cite: 2].
Because there is not a universally accepted standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, the Service may not respond to those signals. Where required, we will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals for activities covered by applicable law[cite: 2].
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and PromptPlate does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action. The Terms of Service require users to be at least 18 years old[cite: 2].
PromptPlate is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from those in your country[cite: 2].
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, providers, or legal requirements. The updated policy will identify a new effective date. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by another appropriate method[cite: 2].
